Ryan

Hmm well,
I don't have a picture for this story, but wanted to record it anyways, since it was just one of those things you want to remember.  Ryan had some sort of hang nail or ingrown nail or something going on with one of his thumbs. At first it was a little red, swollen and painful. Then it seemed to be getting better so Ryan didn't say much about it. I told him that soaking it in Epsom salt could draw out any infection so that it wouldn't get to gross. I had a few traumatic experiences with infections and red lines traveling up my leg when I was younger, so I knew it was a good idea to take care of it early.  Well, since Ryan thought it was getting better we left it alone. (plus Ryan was all about letting his body take care of things on its own)  Well, for some reason, all of a sudden a couple days later the thumb exploded with infection and looked really bad. I told him we should drain it and soak it in Epsom salt again. It wasn't until he looked up on the internet about what he should do, did he believe me. So he got brave and I got a needle, disinfected it and told him to sit down so I could puncture and squeeze all the yucky stuff out.  He resisted and decided to stand at the sink instead. He let me put the needle in but thought it would be better if he squeezed it. He was uncomfortable but I didn't know how much until he told me he wasn't feeling very well. I said "What do you mean? Do you need to sit down?" He said "Well maybe". I told him he had better go sit on the chair in the living room and relax for a sec. As he went over, he kept saying he wasn't feeling well and just kept walking slower and slower. Hmm, not sure what to do, so I ran over next to him and just as I got close, he began crumpling to the floor. Yikes!  I tried to hold him up and get him in the chair, but he was WAY too heavy and just passed out. To the floor he went. Seconds later he came began to come around and I tried to coax him to the chair so he could put his head between his knees and get the blood back into it. That was tough. He just couldn't do it. And then he said " I think I am going to be sick."  Oh Man!! I ran into the kitchen to grab a bowl. I was lucky and he never let loose!  He just laid on the floor, his face resting on the carpet. I am glad I was there to break his fall when he passed out but it...was...scary at the same time.  I just couldn't believe I couldn't get him in that stinkin' chair. It was only a foot more away but he was soooo heavy!  Anyways, it all turned out fine, he couldn't believe he passed out, and he finally agreed to go soak that thumb.

That is so- scary! Husbands weight a lot compared to us so not much we can do if they go down. I need to share this story with Adam. He's always ripping out his hangnails and he's lucky that hasn't happened to him yet.
